Chad & Ailén decided on a wedding destination of the Okanagan. Specifically just outside of Penticton at the beautiful venue Linden Gardens. What I didn't realize was the reasoning behind this choice. Penticton was where they vacationed first together and yearly there after they've always made time for an annual road trip out.
I literally can't express to you how sweet these two humans are. They're non stop laughter, kind souls and my heart could explode when they look at one another. Their wedding day was full of intentional choices and a timeline to reflect spending time with their friends and family on the dance floor.
Heather has an infectious smile, the two of them together is straight fireworks and I appreciate how easy it was to photograph the whole crew. Thank you to the amazing team of vendors that came together, and most importantly thank you to Heather & Brett for trusting me with the task of capturing their day.
While these two met at a halloween party, I think my favourite story that I learned so far was about the proposal. It happened on the coldest of days in Calgary. Lauren was suppose to walk across Peace Bridge, and in Chip's mind her walk from work should take 5 minutes.
This past week has been spent getting to know them better, and honestly. Emily is the sweetest human to grace this earth. She's kind, thoughtful, and literally SO smart. I found out Brendan is more than the funny jokes I met 6 years ago. He's generous, thoughtful and wrote one of the best poems I've ever heard.
Last wedding of the season and I couldn't have asked for a better couple to end 2017. This day was beautiful, full of love and even made me tear up a few times.
Rain is a good thing. It's good luck, it makes for perfect light and I've got a car full of clear umbrellas + a willingness to get drenched. Thankfully this couple and their wedding party were willing participants.
