My friendship with Taylor Martin wasn’t built on a foundation of meeting at the park and having things in common. It was built on the fact of basically being forced into play dates growing up (our parents were and are best friends). The forced hangouts turned into genuine play dates and eventually turned into hiding in the beds of trucks or under trampolines so we never had to leave one another. We’ve literally been friends since my day 1. Taylor would have been a year old and at the peak of her cuteness, (I can say this sarcastically because we all know she’s still one of the cutest human being to this day). We’ve watched one another grow through our awkward stages of braces, glasses and choker necklaces, but also watched one another become these wicked polar opposite adults. We’ve got a friendship that’s one in a million; so this blog is one I hold near and dear to my heart.
Taylor is what your average soul would call a Hopeless Romantic. She’s in love with the idea of love, she’s in love with love, but most of all she’s the walking definition of love. She’s got a heart of gold and despite any hardships, broken hearts or empty promises…she still walks around with the best attitude and openness to all possibilities. I like to call her my confident romantic, she knows she’s going to get her happily ever after she just wasn’t always sure when it would happen.
I knew Taylor the first time she dated Brad, I knew Taylor the second time she dated him, and I’m still here for this time. Each time nothing really changed. Brad was still the love of her life, you could see it in the way she talked about him, the way she told stories about him and even in the way she did things in her life.
I had never really met Brad until this past year. I’ll be honest I was wary of him, but that’s what friends are suppose to be. I photographed them for a fun couples session and I was head over heels in love with their love. I knew this time it was the real deal, they were both on the same page and they were on a journey of writing their own beautiful story.
So last night when Brad asked me to photograph this once in a lifetime moment, I dropped everything. I couldn’t miss an opportunity to photograph my best friends happily ever after coming true.
Yesterday was perfection. I’ve spent the last 21 years listening to Taylor dream about her love story and last night I got to witness the start of one very happily ever after. Congratulations you two!
