"Quickest if you ain't the fittest"
because seriously anyone can do this simple 1.7KM hike to Troll Falls.
Who: You + Your Best friend
What: An easy pet friendly afternoon hike in Calgary’s backyard
Where: Troll Falls, Kananaskis Village, Alberta
When: Ideal times, May-October.
How: One foot/paw in front of the other at a pace in which you’re comfortable.
First I would like to point out the fact that this is not an off leash hike, nor am I advocating for breaking rules. Jinx however is a huge advocate for off leash hiking and always comes back when we see people up ahead and she needs to walk on her leash. So we will continue to blame Jinx...
Troll falls parking is located just off Highway 40, it's called Stoney Trail Day Use Area.
Follow this link for precise directions
It's a 1.7km trail through trees, not much to see but plenty of fresh air to breath in and greenery for the Pups to frolick.
You can continue the trail further than Troll Falls, across the stream. It gets steep and there are more falls further on. I don't believe its dog friendly, but Jinx also is a pansy when it comes to narrow paths/water!
Note : These are all iPhone images, because we ran the trail and I wasn't carrying the extra weight!
If you get up to this hike, we’d love to hear how it goes! Tag us on instagram or drop us a line. Jinx and I are always looking for new simple furry friendly hikes to add to our Spring/Summer List
