Twenty Three : Life Lessons

Another year older another year wiser. Kidding. But I did write these 6 lessons down for me to reflect on as I continue to grow as a person and as a business.

Effort Shows Interest.

I mean this in every aspect of your life. The effort you put forth shows your interest in it all. Whether it’s the family function, friendship, boyfriend or job, you’ll always find time for the things you love and the things you want in your life.

Failures don’t define you.

You are not your failures or your rejections. You are the dreams you chase and the company you keep. Keep your dreams big, attainable and choose your friends wisely to keep you accountable.

Kill them with kindness.

Be genuine in your kindness, authentic in the words, and careful in the actions you take.

Success can be scarier than failure.

No one cares about what you’re doing when you’re failing. Everyone cares about what you’re doing when you’re succeeding. Remember who was their in the years of trial and error, and whose still here on the other side.

Intuition. It’s real.

Don’t be the friend that gives good advice but doesn’t take it. Trust your intuition, especially when it’s screaming shut that door, you have better opportunities coming.

Dream Jobs for the win.

I won’t sugar coat that the dream job didn’t come without some sacrifices, failures and disappointments. I won’t lie that some days I think I’m crazy for working weekends, working from home. But I know that this career I’m building will allow me to live the life I always dreamed of.
